A little ways back sa stranger asked me to paint the Crucifixion. I didn't think I would, but the request stuck with me and lately, my thoughts on the subject have centered around Mary and her experience. I guess Mother's Day convinced me to finally put something down on canvas. This painting shows Mary grieving at the bottom of the cross.

I love how you have used very simple shapes here to make the viewer focus on the emotions expressed.
