Learning to Sail my Ship--Bid
Here's the big wave/ship painting that I've been working on for days. I wonder if the study, which took all of five minutes, is stronger. Life is funny that way. This is all from my head after drawing the studies. It felt great to see it take shape.

Another Ship at Sea Study
I like how the water in this looks and it didn't take a lot of time. Water often seems like it would take forever to represent, I'm always looking for ways to simplify it.

Teahupo--Bid
Here's another entry for this nautical show call for entries at Gallery Lombardi. Sometimes the ocean is scary enough without creatures in it. This is a large wave that crashes in extremely shallow water. Some folks actually surf it.

I'll be painting for the next week, but I won't be able to post. I'll post them all next Wednesday. Stay tuned, and thanks for the support.

Musical Nursery Rhyme Characters
I'm working on a project for a CD of nursery rhymes that teaches kids about traditional musical instruments. I think I'll try it with thicker lines and acrylics.

The Ocean Puzzle Continues
Here's the full ocean painting.
This is the last canvas of my first ocean painting. It is comprised of 9 canvases, 7-4"x4" 2-24"x24", a nonatych. Nona was the ninth roman god of pregnancy, women prayed to her in their ninth month with child. It's fitting that I ended this mother ocean painting on the ninth canvas. I'll take a photo of the whole thing in the daylight tomorrow and let you see it.

More Ocean
Here is another piece of the ocean puzzel, I worked on it last night and tonight. I can't decide whether to add sea creatures or leave this whole thing as more of a color study.

The Earths Warm Center
These last two nights, I've been painting these little paintings that will be a part of a larger painting of mother ocean. I'm imaging how the warm core turns to cool blue water right now, and adding a wave of fire.

Whale: Black and White in Blue
I'm a little obsessed with black and white animals lately. My daughter is really into whales thanks to the purchase of "Free Willy" and a trip to the San Antonio Sea World.
